Why I’m the one teaching you this

I didn’t learn French in a classroom.

I learned it in real life.

I’m Nigerian. I studied Mass Communication, worked full-time at Nigerian Breweries, and had never lived in France or any Francophone country.

French simply started as something I loved.

I had been learning it on and off for years, but at some point, I decided to take it seriously. Most of my studying happened early in the morning or at night after work online tutors, books, movies, anything I could get my hands on.

There was no grand plan at the beginning. I just genuinely loved the language and wanted to get better at it.

Then one day, I stumbled across a Nairaland thread about something called the TEF.

And suddenly, French became more than something I loved.

It could actually be my pathway to Canada.

By then, I was already around B2, but I knew being able to speak French and being ready for an exam were two completely different things.

So I gave myself time. I worked intensively with a tutor, learned the exam, practised properly, and didn’t rush myself just because I wanted the result quickly.

Then I Did It.

I took the TEF once. I passed.

A few months later, my ITA arrived.

Then COVID happened, and people started asking me the same question over and over again:

“How did you do it?”

And eventually:

“Can you teach me?”

That was how French Arena began.

AND THAT’S WHY THIS IS PERSONAL TO ME.

I didn’t start out as a French teacher. I started out as the Student trying to figure all of this out.

I know what it’s like to learn French around a full-time job, piece together resources and wonder whether you’re progressing fast enough.

Understanding the French proficiency levels

French proficiency is measured using six internationally recognized CEFR levels:

A1 — Beginner
A2 — Elementary
B1 — Intermediate
B2 — Upper-intermediate
C1 — Advanced
C2 — Proficient/Fluent

French proficiency does not end at B2. C1 and C2 are the advanced stages of the language.

However, if your goal is to take the TEF or TCF Canada, you do not need to complete C1 or C2 before beginning focused exam preparation.

I am a complete beginner. Can I join?

Yes. The Complete French Bundle begins at A1 and is designed to guide an adult learner progressively through A1, A2, B1 and B2.

Do I need to choose TEF Canada or TCF Canada before I enrol?

No. First build your French. At B1 and B2, you will begin seeing exam-style tasks and selected past questions, which can help you understand the two exam formats. You can make a more informed choice before focused exam preparation.

Will this course prepare me for TEF or TCF Canada?

The bundle builds the A1-B2 language foundation and introduces exam-style work at the higher levels. After reaching the appropriate level, most learners still need a focused period of TEF or TCF Canada preparation for timing, task format, strategy, scoring criteria and mock practice.

How long does it take to complete the full bundle?

Each level is designed for approximately six weeks of focused study. Completing four levels consecutively is about 24 weeks, or roughly six months. Your personal timeline may be shorter or longer depending on your starting point, consistency, practice and target.

Can you guarantee that I will reach B2 or pass the exam?

No ethical teacher can guarantee a language level, exam score or immigration outcome. French Arena provides structure, teaching, practice and support; your progress also depends on your time, consistency and application.

How long will I have access?

You will have six months of access to each level—six months for A1, six months for A2, six months for B1, and six months for B2. Your access period for each level begins only when you activate that level. Although this adds up to two years of access across the Complete French Bundle, it does not mean the programme takes two years to complete. Each level is designed to be completed in six weeks, while the six-month access period gives you additional time to learn at your own pace and revisit the lessons.revisit lessons.

Are the classes live or recorded?

The main course lessons are recorded so you can study flexibly. The programme also includes live group speaking classes each week to practise and receive feedback.

Is this one-to-one coaching?

No. The Complete French Bundle is a self-paced course pathway with group speaking support. One-to-one coaching, when available, is a separate service.

Does French Arena provide immigration advice?

No. French Arena teaches French and supports language-exam preparation. For immigration eligibility, programme selection and legal advice, consult IRCC or a licensed immigration professional.
